I’m a conservationist and science communicator.
I have a Master of Conservation Science from the University of Queensland, including an independent research project assessing the efficacy of marine protected areas globally. Before that, I graduated with a Bachelor Science (Honours) / Bachelor Arts degree, with majors in ecology, political science and journalism, and an Honours thesis in palaeobiology.
Since 2019, I have co-hosted and co-produced the weekly science show Know Idea on Brisbane’s community radio station 4ZZZ. I also used to co-host a podcast called Life on the Brink, telling stories of wildlife on the brink of extinction and the people dedicating their lives to saving them.
I make TikToks and other socials content when I can. My opinions on my personal social media accounts are my own.
My day jobs have taken me to the Invasive Species Council and the Australian Marine Conservation Society as a digital campaigner and communications specialist. While I was studying, I tutored students studying undergraduate ecology, developed learning materials for a range of biological science courses, and taught science communication to early career researchers.
